Join us for an opportunity to hear from the scientists and engineers that are part of the Perseverance mission. In this interactive session they will share their work, excitement for the landing, and what to expect in the moments, days and weeks that follow the landing. They will also answer audience questions.

Participating Talent:
Cj Giovingo, Systems Engineer, Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL)
Cj is currently working on the Entry, Descent and Landing (EDL) Systems team of the Mars 2020 mission, NASA’s next robotic rover to traveling to the Red Planet. In addition to their work at JPL, Cj serves on the Board of Directors for Out for Undergrad, a non-profit aimed at helping high-achieving LGBTQ+ undergraduates reach their full potential.
Gregorio Villar, EDL Systems Engineer, JPL
Gregory held several roles on the Mars Science Laboratory flight project that provided him experience in all phases of the mission. He tested operations for launch, cruise and landing, and worked Mars time surface operations with the responsibility of planning rover activities daily. In addition, Gregory tested software for the sampling system using Curiosity’s twin test rover on Earth.
Ari Vogel, Director, Deep Space Exploration, Lockheed Martin
Ari is responsible for execution and growth in robotic deep space exploration markets. Some of the well-known spacecraft exploring, or soon to be exploring our solar system and studying the universe Mr. Vogel is responsible for include Hubble, InSight, OSIRIS-REx, Juno, Lucy, Janus, Lunar Trailblazer, Dragonfly, MAVEN, Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter and Mars Odyssey.
Dr. Allan Treiman, Senior Staff Scientist, Lunar and Planetary Institute
Dr. Treiman studies planetary materials, particularly Moon rocks and martian meteorites. From these rocks, he teases out the early histories of the terrestrial planets. His current work includes a focus on Mars mineralogy, as a Co-Investigator for instruments on both the Mars 2020 Perseverance rover and the Mars Curiosity rover.
