The USRA STEMaction Center is the host of a multitude of different educational workshops and programs aimed at inspiring the next generation of STEM professionals!

 Tech Changers

TechChangers is a 501c3 focused on creating a diverse community of youth makers, technologists, leaders, and innovators by providing all students, especially underrepresented and socioeconomically challenged groups with opportunities to discover and foster their passion for STEM and computing.

  FIRST in Maryland

 

The FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) family of robotics programs represent a continuum of education and competition opportunites for students from grades K-12.   FIRST offers four programs: FIRST LEGO League Junior (grades K-4), FIRST LEGO League (grades 4-8), FIRST Tech Challenge (grades 7-12), FIRST Robotics Competition (grades 9-12)

  Cubes in Space

 

Cubes in Space in a unique program that allows students to design their own experiments, then apply to have them flown into space or a near-space environment on a NASA Sounding Rocket or Research Balloon.  USRA STEMaction offered  two Cubes in Space workshops this summer.

 ACT Prep Course


In preparation for college applications and admittance exams, the USRA STEMaction center hosts a weekly ACT preparatory course (when in-season) aimed at assisting prospective college students prepare for the ACT exam. During this tutor led preparatory course, students are provided with various helpful study materials including practice exams and booklets.
